Anxiety is a normal part of daily life; it helps us stay alert, focused, respond to danger or threat, and even improve performance. However, for some, anxiety levels can exceed what’s considered a typical response and become frequent, intense, and overwhelming. For those struggling with anxiety, certain situations, events, places, or people may begin to feel like a threat, leading to fear, worry, and rumination. Perhaps you're experiencing something similar?

When living with anxiety, we often start to rely on things that once helped us feel some relief. In CBT terms, these are called safety behaviours—things we might do more or less of to feel ‘safe’. Can you think of anything specific that helps you feel safer?
